Apocalypso Filmworks Pvt Ltd is one of the leading Ad film Production Houses in Mumbai.

The company incorporated in Delhi in Oct 1997 slowly moved its operations to Mumbai in the year 2001 to establish its roots in the highly competitive Ad Film Industry.

In the very first year the company won acclaim for its Commercials on Tata Yellow Pages and Onida KY Thunder. Both the Ads won Abby Awards. The campaigns on Aaj Tak and ICICI Prudential won the RAPA Awards. In addition, Apocalypso bagged the silver for campaign of the year at the Abbys with it’s Aaj Tak campaign.

In subsequent years Apocalypso made numerous Ads for different agencies in this cut throat competitive Ad World and today is one among the first 5 big Ad Film Makers in India.

After graduating from the Delhi College of Art in 1979 with a gold medal, Mr. Pradeep Sarkar joined Tulika Advertising Agency as Creative Supervisor. He began his career in Contract Advertising, Delhi and after 17 years of pure mainstream advertising he left Contract as Associate Vice President Creative and jumped into the ad-film making. He got his first break in the television commercial, “Kelvinator – Ghar Ghar Ki Dhadkan” under his new found banner ‘Fatman Films’. From there started the journey of film making for Mr. Sarkar, who practically pioneered celluloid in Delhi, thus creating a thriving market of many connected professions from a bank of actors to technical professionals to finally a trickle of serious Television Commercial making in Delhi.
In 2001 he shifted his base to Mumbai and carved out a niche for his production house in the highly competitive advertising film industry. The first year in Mumbai, ads produced by Apocalypso Filmworks Pvt. Ltd. were highly appreciated and won acclaim. The commercials on Tata Yellow Pages and Onida KY Thunder won Abby Awards and the campaigns on Aaj Tak and ICICI Prudential won the Rapa Awards. Later his Aaj Tak campaign won him the best Director of the year Award at Abby Award ceremony, an award instituted for the first time in 2003. In addition, Apocalypso bagged the silver for campaign of the year at the Abby’s with its Aaj Tak campaign.

He has made over 1000 television commercials, 15 music videos and a few feature film songs before taking the big leap into feature films. ‘Parineeta’ his directorial debut and has been highly acclaimed as an emotional, visual and musical extravaganza.

The film has bagged the maximum number of nominations in various categories in different Award Ceremonies in the country. Mr. Sarkar also won as the ‘Best Debutant Director’ in Screen Awards and the ‘Hottest Young Director’ Awards’ in Stardust awards in 2006.

His second film ‘Laaga Chunari Mein Daag – Journey of a Woman‘, was produced and released in 2007 under the Yash Raj Films banner. Another two films will follow under the YRF banner, one of the largest film production houses in India .
